Meet The Coach: Paul Williamson, MS, PES, CPT

First and foremost, I am a teacher – not a drill sergeant. For over a decade as a personal trainer and student of movement, I’ve been developing and refining the Primal Zen movement philosophy that I now teach. Through an in-depth study of many different systems and practices, from yoga to gymnastics to calisthenics and weight lifting (and many more), I’ve come to find that most of the fitness industry has lost its common sense and become little more than a random assortment of incomplete truths.

I teach my own unique approach to exercise to help my clients become what I call Primal Athletes. A Primal Athlete is someone who has developed the strength, flexibility, body awareness, and control to effortlessly move their body through space in nearly any way they choose. Whether it’s climbing, crawling, bending, squatting, twisting, or jumping – and eventually things like handstands, muscle-ups, or pure improvisation – a Primal Athlete can perform a wide range of tasks with ease.

Being a Primal Athlete isn’t about building a sexy physique (though it’s a nice bonus), it’s about striving for body (and mind) mastery so that you can do anything that you choose. It’s also much more fun (and functional) than just adding more weight to a bar. You’ll be amazed at not just how great you look and feel, but what you can DO. Whether you’re 20 or 70, effortless movement and incredible feats of strength, skill and body control are absolutely attainable and I can help you every step of the way.

Paul has been changing lives as a personal trainer for over a decade. He worked in a couple big box gyms early in his career, worked as an independent trainer for a few years, and then opened his own personal training gym (A&W Fitness) in Addison, TX in 2011.

Paul graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion with a concentration on Performance Enhancement & Injury Prevention from Cal U.

Paul graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Fitness & Wellness from Cal U.

National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) - CPT

Paul is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through NASM – the top certifying body in the fitness industry.
